NRL to investigate bottle throwing at Mt Smart Stadium

6:36 am on 21 September 2008

Australia's National Rugby League is awaiting a report from Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium, but will have no hesitation banning anyone found guilty of throwing bottles at players in Friday night's semi-final.

The Warriors' 30-13 win over the Sydney Roosters has been marred by allegations of bottles being thrown at Roosters players camped in their own in-goal.

NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley, who was at the match, says he doesn't know what footage is available of the incident but warned of dire consequences for any guilty parties.

Annesley says fortunately nobody was hit and the NRL will follow it up with the Stadium tomorrow.
