Pacific Islanders rugby coach resigns citing personal reasons

The Former Wallaby Ilie Tabua has stood down as coach of the Pacific Islanders rugby squad to tour Europe citing unforeseen personal circumstances.

Tabua says time constraints too played a part in his decision with Tongan World Cup coach Quiddus Fielea, who was previously in charge of the Pacific Islanders' backline, appointed as Tabua's replacement.

Former Wallaby fullback Glen Ella will now coach the backline.
