A nagging hamstring injury has forced New Zealand pace bowler Chris Martin out of next month's one-day international cricket series in Bangladesh.

Black Caps manager Lindsay Crocker says Martin injured himself playing county cricket in England and will be replaced by Central Districts Michael Mason.

Crocker says while Martin was able to play a full part in Warwickshire's most recent four-day match, New Zealand Cricket feels its better cut short his time at the county side and return home for treatment so he can take a full part in the test series against Bangladesh.

New Zealand are scheduled to play three one-dayers in Bangladesh with the first test starting in just over four weeks.
