Ban for Perpignan's Hines

5:43 pm on 26 September 2008

Perpignan's Scottish international rugby lock Nathan Hines has been suspended for 30 days for trampling a player during his French club's Top 14 victory over Bourgoin last month.

The national league discipline committee says the Australian-born forward will be eligible to resume from October 24th.

Also in the dock was Toulon's owner Mourad Boudjellal, who was suspended from pitchside for 30 days for his behaviour during his club's league game against Clermont, also last month.

Boudjellal will be free to join coach Tana Umaga in the dug-out from October 24th also.

But the commitee summoned the outspoken president of Toulon - the club the runaway rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams recently joined - to a hearing next week to answer for his behaviour during the match with Stade Francais, which was marred by a huge fight between the players.
