Goorjian challenges Dragons to find some fire

South Dragons coach Brian Goorjian says his side's dismal first half in a two-point loss to Townsville in Melbourne is as bad a performance he's been involved with in 20 years of National Basketball League coaching.

The import guard Corey Williams lifted the Crocodiles to their first win of the season with an inspiring fourth quarter in what ended up a thrilling 91-89 win over the Dragons.

The Dragons are trying to shed their tag as the NBL's underachievers under their new coach this season, but they reverted to type and trailed by 19 at halftime.

Goorjian says his team laid a laid a huge egg in an emotionless and flat first half before fighting back in the third quarter, only to miss a three-pointer with the last throw of the game,.

The Dragons now have a 2-2 win-loss record, while Townsville are 1-1.
