Hopping and Igasan win top hockey player awards

Blair Hopping has been named the mens' hockey player of the year while Black Sticks captain Lizzy Igasan has won the women's top ranking for a third time.

Hopping, an international defender, plays for North Harbour. He previously won in 2005.

Auckland's Simon Child, who's 20, won the under-21 men's player of the year title, while the women's equivalent was won by Gemma Flynn, who's 18 and plays for Midlands.
