The two-test All Black Scott Hamilton is leaving Canterbury at the end of the season, having signed a two-year contract with English premiership club Leicester.

Hamilton played his two tests in 2006 and has chalked up 58 matches for the Crusaders while Saturday night's NPC match against Hawkes Bay will be his 71st for Canterbury.

Hamilton, who's 28, was equally adept at fullback or on the wing, made his debut for Canterbury in 2002 and has won three Super rugby titles, the Ranfurly Shield twice and the NPC title in 2004.

He will move to England in November.
