The Gold Coast coach Brendan Joyce has become embroiled in a war of words with a sports journalist and a Wildcats official following his side's 94-80 Australian National Basketball League loss last night.
Joyce vented his fury at a newspaper article that suggested Shane Heal's arrival at the Blaze had attracted criticism in Queensland and there was speculation the 38-year-old's presence could even stifle the development of Joyce's son, 21-year-old Daniel Joyce.
In his post-match media conference following the Blaze's defeat in Perth, Joyce unleashed an extraordinary attack on Ross Lewis from The West Australian, demanding the journalist leave the room.
The Blaze return to Perth to tackle the Cats on January 24.
