Ponting says he won't stand for anything less than players best behaviour

The Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting claims he'll not stand for anything but the best behaviour from his players during the upcoming Test series in India, following the ugly scenes of last summer's encounter.

Ponting maintains the bar for player behaviour is higher than what is expected by the public or even what is stipulated by the umpires and match referee, saying it was up to he and Indian skipper Anil Kumble to police their players.

Whether Ponting's words result in a series free of nasty on-field conduct remains to be seen, following the public relations battering his team took after last summer's Sydney Test.

Ponting maintains any lingering ill feeling over that series is gone.

Meanwhile Player security remains an issue to be dealt with before the team makes plans to travel to Delhi for the third Test of the four-match series.

Despite two recent bomb blasts in India's captital Ponting says his side has yet to sit down and talk about the matter simply having relied on security reports from team advisors.
