Long road back from injury for Woods

Tiger Woods expects it will take another 18 months before he fully recovers from the knee surgery he underwent in June, even though he will be back competing sometime next year.

The 32-year-old had cruciate ligament surgery on his left knee after he won the US Open at Torrey Pines, California - his 14th victory in a major and four short of Jack Nicklaus's all-time record.

It was his ninth win in 12 official events in 2008 and he had hoped to be back by early in the New Year.

But although the operation has been successful, Woods says he won't be able to swing a club until January at the earliest.
