Berbatov double as Man United ease past Aalborg

Manchester United's new signing Dimitar Berbatov has scored twice to lead the holders to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aalborg in Denmark the Group stage of European football's Champions League.

Wayne Rooney opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Berbatov blasted home his first goal as a United player in the 55th minute.

The Bulgarian doubled his tally in the 79th minute with a beautiful sideways scissor kick after a cross from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Elsewhere, Arsenal recovered from a shock Premier League defeat to Hull by demolishing Porto 4-0 in London, with two goals each from Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor firing them to the top of Group G after drawing their opener 1-1 with Dynamo Kiev.

But Celtic lost 1-0 at Villareal and another Spanish side, Real Madrid, also won 2-1 at Zenit St Petersburg in Russia.
