The Australian netball side has won the first test against England, 42-39, at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
The Diamonds held off a tenacious England outfit to maintain their 28-year unbeaten run over the visitors, with its 36th straight win over England and their 47th in 48 clashes overall.
Going into the final stanza Australia held a 33-32 advantage after being outscored 13-10 in the third quarter.
