Churchill Medallist flies kite for more Manly Test players

4:49 pm on 6 October 2008

The Churchill medallist Brent Kite says Manly's NRL premiership-winning players should be rewarded when Australia's Rugby League World Cup squad is announced tomorrow.

Kite was judged best on the field in last night's record 40-0 thrashing of Melbourne in Sydney and the Sea Eagles prop is a certainty for Ricky Stuart's 24-man Kangaroos squad.

But he's adamant several of his team-mates should be there, too, dropping the names of Annthony Watmough,Josh Perry, Jamie Lyon, Matt Orford and Glenn Stewart.

Kite was Manly's only representative in the May Test match against New Zealand, while fullback Brett Stewart was the only Sea Eagle who played State of Origin this year.
