Age group bronze medals for NZ Ironmen

New Zealand triathletes scored two medals in age group competition at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.

In the elite open classes Cameron Brown finished 5th in the men's race and Gina Ferguson 58th in the womens race.

Wellington's Sue Mellsop, making her Ironman debut in Hawaii, won the bronze medal in the women's 40-44 years age group while 63-year-old Tiare Lund also won a bronze medal.

Taupo's Neil Fleming kept his outstanding record. The oldest Kiwi in the field, Fleming, 71, finished 12th in his age group.
