The Taranaki surfer Paige Hareb is another step closer to becoming the first New Zealand female to qualify for the ASP World Tour after finishing second at the Oakley International at Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.

Hareb was narrowly beaten by Diana Cristina of Brazil in the final, but the result cements her 5th place overall with one round remaining on the qualifying tour.... the top six qualify for next year's main tour.

The final round is in Hawaii next month.
