South Canterbury to appear before NZRU disciplinary

7:03 am on 14 October 2008

The South Canterbury Rugby Union will appear before a New Zealand Rugby Union disciplinary hearing this week following allegations of poor behaviour by members of their Heartland Championship team on a charter flight earlier this month.

The allegations relate to the team's behaviour on the charter flight from Gisborne to Wellington, where the team was refused permission to board their connecting flight to Christchurch.

The team was reportedly removed from an Air New Zealand flight for being rude at an attendant.

Representatives from the South Canterbury RFU will appear before Judicial Officer Bruce Squire QC at the NZRU offices in Wellington on Wednesday.
