The recently retired rowing champions Georgina and Caroline Evers Swindell have the possibility of winning at least one more trophy.

The twins, who announced their departure from the sport last week , have been named as one of the finalists for the 2008 World Rowing Awards.

They successfully defended their Olympic double sculls title in Beijing in August.

The other finalists in the women's category are the Bulgarian single sculler Rumyana Neykova and the American eight, who both won in Beijing.

Caroline and Georgina are also likely to be nominated for the Halberg Sports Awards later this year.
