NZ cricketers slip in one day rankings

7:05 pm on 15 October 2008

The New Zealand cricketers failed to make any impression on the ICC One Day Championship despite beating Bangladesh 2-1 in their series.

The Black Caps won last night's third and deciding match in Chittagong by 79 runs, but because they didn't beat the lowly ranked Bangladeshi's 3-nil, they lose ranking points.

That keeps them in 4th place behind Australia, South Africa and England and now equal with India.

The attention will now shift to the two-Test series which begins in Chittagong from Friday.
