Black Stick up for International hockey award

The New Zealand men's hockey striker Simon Childs has been named as one of the finalists for the International Hockey Federation's Young Player of the Year Award.

Child has amassed an amazing 87 tests at just 20 years of age and is currently playing in the Dutch NHL for Rotterdam.

All athletes that participated at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games were able to vote for their favorite player.

The winners will be announced during a special awarding ceremony, which will take place during the FIH Congress Dinner in Los Angeles at the end of November.
