Premier league newcomers into top four

Hull City have gatecrashed the English premier soccer league's top four with a 1-nil win at home over West Ham United, their fifth win in eight league games in their debut season in the top flight.

Hull are in third place behind Chelsea and Liverpool after the best start by a promoted club since the Premier League began.

Stoke City, another of the promoted clubs, beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 to leave the

London club anchored at the bottom of the table with just two points.

Spurs ended the game with nine men after Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson were both sent off while a third Spurs defender, Vedran Corluka, suffered a head injury and was carried from the field unconscious.
