Ireland's master horse trainer Dermott Weld has booked Australia's top big race jockey in a bid to win a third Melbourne Cup next month.
Weld, who won the 1993 Melbourne Cup with Vintage Crop, and saddled up Media Puzzle to win in in 2002, has hired Glen Boss to ride his mare Profound Beauty in this year's race.
Boss won the race three times in a row with Australian wonder horse Makybe Diva from 2003 and Weld had no hesitation in booking him after Profound Beauty recovered from a minor hoof injury.
There's a powerful northern hemisphere contingent in Melbourne, and last Saturday's Caulfield Cup was won by the Dubai-owned stayer All The Good at long odds.
