Busy couple of months for some NZ footballers

Nine of New Zealand's under-17 women's footballers will compete in two World Cups in two months, after being named in the final squad for the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Chile in November.

However, there's no time to celebrate for the lucky nine - including senior international Annalie Longo and promising 15-year-old striker Rosie White - as their under-17 campaign begins against Canada in Auckland next Tuesday.

New Zealand under-17 captain Briony Fisher says their initial goal is to make the second round and they've been working towards this tournament for two years.

The under-20 women's World Cup begins on November 19th, just three days after the North Harbour-hosted final of the inaugural under-17 event.
