Economic crisis will have "limited impact" on World Cup

The president of South Africa's football World Cup organising committee says the world economic crisis will only have a "limited impact" on preparations for the 2010 tournament.

Danny Jordaan says construction costs had gone up by 10 per cent compared with the initial budget, due to the rising cost of steel, concrete and exchange rate variations.

But he says the increases were calculated some while ago and all costs are now frozen so there won't be an impact on their stadium budget.
