Woods back at scene of latest US Open win as caddie

Four months after his epic US Golf Open victory, Tiger Woods has returned to the Torrey Pines course in San Diego without a limp, and without his golf clubs.

Out of action following knee surgery a week after beating Rocco Mediate in a 19-hole playoff for his 14th career major, Woods came back to Torrey Pines to caddy for the winner of the "Tee Off with Tiger" competition.

Hopping from a golf cart, Woods walked up to 59-year-old John Abel, doffed his cap and extended his hand an introduced himself as his caddie.

Showing no signs of his season-ending surgery, Woods wore a caddie's bib inscribed with Abel's name as he guided him around the back nine of the South Course, where he has won six times in the Buick Invitational and once in a US Open he called his best ever.

Woods says his rehabilitation is on schedule but that his return will be dictated by his doctors saying he can chip and putt at present but can't start doing fuller rotational shots until the start of the New Year.
