Atletico Madrid came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Liverpool in the latest round of European football's Champions League.

Robbie Keane opened the scoring for the visitors after 14 minutes from a simple through ball to beat the offside trap, though replays showed he was offside.

Then it was mostly Liverpool until Simao Sabrosa scored a late equaliser for Atletico on 83 minutes, sending the packed stadium into raptures and putting the home team level on points at the top of their group.

PSV Eindhoven beat Olympique Marseille 2-0 in that pool's other game in the Netherlands.

In other games, Chelsea skipper John Terry grabbed a 77th minute winner over AS Roma at Stamford Bridge, the 1-0 victory putting the Londoners three points clear of Romania's CFR Cluj, who lost away at French club Girondins Bordeaux 1-0.

Barcelona thrashed Basel 5-0 in Switzerland while Shakhtar Donetsk went down at home in Ukraine to Sporting of Portugal 1-0, leaving the Spaniards three points ahead of the Portugese club in their pool.

Inter Milan top their group after seeing off nearest challengers Anorthosis Famagusta 1-0 while Greek club Panathinaikos earned their first points with a 2-2 home draw against German visitors Werder Bremen.
