The All Blacks coach Graham Henry believes they've picked a touring side with plenty of experience and also a squad that they can develop during the November Tests.

Henry's 35-man squad for next weekend's Bledisloe Cup match against Australia in Hong Kong and then the Grand Slam tour, includes seven new caps.

Canterbury captain Kieran Read's been rewarded for another strong season and an outstanding game in his side's Air New Zealand Cup win last night.

Read's joined in the squad for the November tour to Hong Kong, the UK and Ireland by seven new caps, including fellow provincial captains Liam Messam of Waikato and Southland's Jamie Mackintosh.

The other All Black newcomers in the 35-strong squad are Tasman loosehead prop Ben Franks, loose forwards Scott Waldrom from Taranaki and Wellington team-mates, the winger Hosea Gear and fullback Cory Jane.

Taranaki lock Jason Eaton and Auckland winger Josevata Rokocoko return from injury while other notable recalls include Canterbury's Corey Flynn and Canterbury-bound Wellington lock Ross Filipo.

Canterbury's Leon MacDonald and Waikato's Brendon Leonard were not considered for selection due to injury.
