The Tongan-born rugby player Lesley Vainikolo was arrested at the weekend following a late night assault outside a nightclub in Bath, southwest England.
The 29 year old former Kiwi and Great Britain league international was questioned by police but not charged in connection with the beating of a man who required hospital treatment, but was released soon after.
Vainikolo was released on bail.
