IOC president outlines priorities for next term

The International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge has identified the fight against drugs and obesity as his priorities if he's selected for another term.

To achieve his goals, Rogge says governments who have plunged billions of euros into banks to prop up the world's financial system must not cut their budgets for sport, health and education.

The 66-year-old Rogge announced last week his intention to stand for re-election as head of sport's top world governing body.

The Belgian doctor was elected for his first eight-year term as IOC president in 2001, and he's likely to be re-elected unopposed next year.

Despite the financial turmoil gripping the world, Rogge says the IOC's finances "are rock solid".
