5:53 am on 1 November 2008

The Australian cricket side is 338 for four in its first innings in reply to India's 613 for seven declared heading into the fourth day of the third test in New Delhi.

The third day was highlighted by occasional off spinner Virender Sehwag taking three wickets and Australia's captain Ricky Ponting posting 87.

Sehwag bowled Ponting and Mike Hussey, for 53, in the final session after trapping opener Matthew Hayden,83, before tea.

At stumps, Michael Clarke was on 21 with Shane Watson on four, both surviving a few testing overs from Sehwag and leg spinner Amit Mishra on a pitch showing signs of wear and tear.
