Australia levelled it's trans-Tasman netball series with a thrilling 43-41 victory over the Silver Ferns in Brisbane last night.

Leading by just a goal at each of the three breaks, the Diamonds withstood a spirited late surge by the Silver Ferns in a tense final quarter.

Goal attack Susan Pratley iced the win, and a 2-all series result, with her 26th and final goal in the last 30 seconds of the match.

Silver Ferns Shooter Irene van Dyke who put in just 83 percent of her shots was put under huge pressure by Australia's 21 year old goal keeper Laura Geitz who was making her debut.

Maria Tutaia picked up the slack shooting 21 from 21 until she missed her first shot under immense pressure with just two minutes remaining leaving the Diamonds with a two goal lead which they didn't concede

Coach Ruth Aitken made one change in the last quarter bringing in Wendy Telfer in place of Joeline Henry at Wing Defence.

Despite the loss the Silver Ferns won the trans tasman trophy on points difference.
