The Hawke's Bay cyclist Jeremy Yates will take a 25 second lead into today's third stage of the Tour of Southland.
Yates grabbed the yellow jersey after winning yesterday's second stage which finished on the top of Bluff Hill.
Heath Blackgrove is in second place with Glen Chadwick another 4 seconds back in third.
Today's third stage is a 165km ride from Invercargil to Gore.
