Jones to return to NZ Warriors

One of New Zealand's greatest ever rugby league players, Stacey Jones, is coming out of retirement to play for the Warriors in the National Rugby League next year.

Three years after ending his record 238-game career at Mt Smart Stadium, the much-decorated 32-year-old has signed a one-year contract, negotiated by his agent Peter Brown, to resume his playing ties with the club.

Jones says an approach by the Warriors coach Ivan Cleary and a taste of top-level football with the All Golds last month had rekindled his desire to again play for the club.

Jones says his motivation is to try to help the club win a premiership.

After leaving the Warriors he played for French club, Catalan Dragons.
