Herbert angered by "disrespect"

The Wellington Phoenix football coach Ricki Herbert had to be dragged away from his Sydney counterpart after he took exception to a comment following Wellington's 2-1 A-League upset win last night in Sydney.

Referring to the penalty decision that decided the game Sydney FC coach John Kosmina commented that Herbert got a lucky decision.

Herbert says he was annoyed by what he described as disrespect to the Phoenix club.

Phoenix striker Shane Smeltz gave his side the edge after he converted an 89th minute spot kick after Sydney captain Tony Popovic handled his cross.

Leo Bertos gave Wellington a 1-0 lead when he powered a near-post header past Sydney goalkeeper Ivan Necevski following a pin point right-wing cross from Tim Brown in the 34th minute.
