Injured world men's tennis number one Rafael Nadal may not recover in time for Spain's Davis Cup final away to Argentina later this month.

, his trainer and uncle was quoted as saying on Monday.

Nadal has tendinitis in his right knee and was forced to pull out of this week's season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai.

He also had to retire from his Paris Masters quarter-final against Nikolay Davydenko last month.

His trainer and uncle, Toni Nadal, says right now his inclusion in the Davis team is difficult because the test did not go well.

The Davis Cup final is in Mar del Plata starting on the 21st of November.

The French Open and Wimbledon champion has blamed his injury on what he sees as the overloaded ATP tennis calendar.
