Green threat to 2010 Commonwealth games in India

The organisers of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi are now discussing their options after facing an ultimatum to resolve a dispute over the athlete's village.

Work on the complex, which will host 8,000 competitors, has been halted by environmental campaigners.

They're concerned about the effect the construction of the village may have on the Yamuna river, which it's being built next to - and actually partly over.

A legal case is deciding whether building work on the site can continue but the Commonwealth Games Federation chairman Austin Sealey has warned the organisers if the dispute's not resolved quickly, they could lose the event.
