The New Zealand cricketers Peter Fulton and Gareth Hopkins have been called in to cover for illness and injury in the Black Caps squad.
Hopkins is arriving earlier than scheduled in Australia after wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum could not field during yesterday's last session against New South Wales because of back spasms.
Fulton will cover for Jesse Ryder who is suffering from a virus.
Both McCullum and Ryder are expected to be fully fit for the first test starting in Brisbane on Thursday.
Meanwhile New South Wales is 309-6 heading into the third day of the the four day match against New Zealand in Sydney.
The Black Caps made 266.
