North Korea wins under 17 football world cup

North Korea have won the inaugural Fifa under 17 women's football World Cup.

In the final in Albany the Asian champions scored an extra time 2-1 victory over the United States.

The Americans opened the scoring after 2 minutes when a thrown in bounced over the Korean keeper.

North Korea got a deserved equaliser after 75 minutes... and then scored the winner midway through the second half of extra time.

The country is dominating age group women's football after their under 20 side won their World Cup in 2006.

Earlier Germany beat England 3-nil in the play-off for third.
