All Whites build for future

6:19 am on 18 November 2008

New Zealand and Fiji are targetting tomorrow's FIFA World Cup qualifier in Lautoka as a match to build for the future.

There's nothing at stake with New Zealand already crowned Oceania Nations Cup champions and representing the region in the World Cup play-off with the fifth-best Asian qualifier.

So both coaches have named young squads with many players set to make their international debuts.

The All Whites strike force does not boast a single international cap with Costa Barbarouses and Greg Draper named alongside Kris Bright.

Others set to make their debut include the Olympic captain Aaron Scott, goalkeeper Jacob Spoonley and midfielder Cole Peverley.

The All Whites leave today and coach Ricki Herbert says it's a chance for the newcomers to show they're in contention for the Confederations Cup and the home and away World Cup qualifiers
