Lineen tells fans to lay off Parks

Scotland 's assistant coach Sean Lineen has come to the defence of Dan Parks after the Australia-born back endured his latest dose of verbal abuse from rugby fans at Murrayfield.

The Glasgow five-eighth has never been the most popular player at Scotland's Edinburgh home, in part because of his ancestry but also because of some inconsistent displays for his adopted country.

Parks was booed after missing two penalties when neither side had scored during Scotland's 14-10 loss to South Africa,

But he wasn't alone in in being off-target and the New Zealand-born former Scotland centre Lineen says the crowd's disappointing response is bad for the player's confidence.
