The Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been banned for three games following an incident during a League Cup match last week.

The Ivory Coast international admitted a charge of violent conduct and apologised for throwing a coin back into the crowd at Stamford Bridge.

The incident happened after Drogba had scored the opening goal in the match which Burnley ended up winning in a shock result - on penalties after extra time.
