Amcup boss says they should retain old boats to save money

The co-organiser of this summer's regatta for America's Cup teams fears the global financial woes will make the next cup regatta more difficult to pull together.

The Louis Vuitton Pacific series in Auckland will bring 12 cup sailing squads together, to race using four shared boats - the first such gathering since the Amerca's Cup in Spain last year.

A courtroom battle continues to leave the America's cup itself in limbo, but Louis Vuitton's Bruno Trouble says the tougher job of eventually finding sponsors means cost-savings should be considered such as retaining the boat design rules from last year.
