Woodcock escapes any further punishment

6:29 pm on 20 November 2008

The All Black prop Tony Woodcock has escaped any further punishment after appearing before an IRB judicial hearing in Dublin for punching.

Woodcock was cited for punching Ireland hooker Rory Best at Croke Park last weekend.... Woodcock spent time in the sin-bin following the incident.

Woodcock admitted that he had committed an act of foul play, while the judiciary considered the fact of foul play didn't warrant a red card and no further sanction was appropriate.

It means that he will start against Wales this weekend although he has been bothered by a back complaint suffered against Ireland.

Meamnwhile there are reports out of Cardiff that the reserve hooker Corey Flynn has broken his arm and will return home.
