NZRL considers Kiwis street parade

6:47 pm on 25 November 2008

The New Zealand Rugby League is looking closely at street parade involving the entire Kiwis squad as it investigates a range of possibilities to celebrate the World Cup win over Australia.

The trophy is in New Zealand's hands for the next five years for the first time since the competition began in 1954.

NZRL general manager Peter Cordtz says it's too soon to say if there'll be a parade as it'd be a challenge bringing together the players and management.

But he says the win seems to have captured everyone's interest and it's important as many New Zealanders as possible are able to see and enjoy a trophy of such significance.

In the meantime the Cup's on display at the Rugby League Museum and it's also planned to have it on show as part of Auckland's annual Santa Parade on Sunday.
