Symonds cleared to continue playing but Cricket Australia express disappointment

The Trouble-prone allrounder Andrew Symonds has been cleared to continue his international career following a Cricket Australia investigation.

Cricket Australia say an investigation has shown Symonds did nothing wrong when approached by a member of the public seeking a photograph at a Brisbane pub on Sunday night following the first Test victory.

The man reportedly threw a couple of punches at Symonds after the player turned him away with bar staff then removing the man from the premises.

However Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland says he's disappointment Symonds put himself in a compromising position by visiting a pub so soon after admitting publicly that alcohol had played a part in the off-field problems that caused him to be left out of Australian tour to India in September.
