The New Zealand cricketers lost their last four wickets for only eight runs to be all out for 270 early on day two of the second test in Adelaide, giving Australia plenty of time to make better use of a good pitch.

Brendon McCullum was first to go for 30, followed by Tim Southee for two and Iain O'Brien and Chris Martin without scoring, leaving Dan Vettori on 18.

The Australian fast bowler Brett Lee finished with four for 68.
