The New Zealand sevens captain, DJ Forbes says his side paid the price for a slow start in its Cup semi final loss to England in the first leg of the new season of the IRB World Series in Dubai.
New Zealand lifted their intensity but Forbes says his side couldn't make the most of opportunities presented in the second half and went down 21-19.
South Africa beat England in the final 19-12.
