Wales coach Warren Gatland has hailed his team as northern hemisphere saviours after their 21-18 victory over Australia at Millennium Stadium.
The win prevented Tri Nations sides the Wallabies, All Blacks and Springboks from completing a 20-0 sweep over European rivals in 2008.
Gatland says his side is pleased and someone had to carry the flag for the northern hemisphere.
Wallabies coach Robbie Deans says Wales has proven this month they were now able to challenge the best teams in the world on a regular basis.
