The Melbourne Tigers' basketball star Sam Mackinnon says his career could be over because of a recurrence of blood clots on his lungs.
32 year old Mackinnon was forced out of Australia's Olympic campaign in Beijing when blood clots were first diagnosed in April, which meant three months on the sidelines.
The former Australian captain says he'll know more about his future after a meeting with specialists this week, but he says his young family is his first consideration.
