Former England cricket boss says Indian tour should be called off

6:45 am on 3 December 2008

The former England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Lord MacLaurin believes England should abandon the rest of their Indian tour, and it'll be sad if they return.

The England team returned home after last week's terror attacks in Mumbai, and they're awaiting a report by the ECB's security adviser before deciding whether to return to play their two scheduled test matches later this month.

Lord Maclaurin says he doesn't think any security people can actually say it's going to be safe.

But the former England captain Nasser Hussain says eventually the game has to go on, and England can make a statement by returning.
