England's cricketers have been promised tighter security in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks in Mumbai, increasing the chances of this month's test series in India going ahead.
But while the England and Wales Cricket Board appears closer to accepting fresh assurances on safety, former player Dominic Cork claims the side were "traumatised" and as six of Peter Moores' squad would not return.
Another former player, Geoff Boycott, attacked the ECB in his newspaper column for showing "a lack of moral judgement" in trying to save the Tests, saying it is monstrous for the ECB even to be thinking about sending the team back out again.
In the meantime, England have been considering setting up a training camp in Abu Dhabi on their way to Chennai for the first test, but it could be a couple of days yet before a decision is made regarding their possible return to India.
